In the pantheon of all the new voices being introduced in Gospel music, Denita Gibbs unique style and high definition of praise and worship ushers’ audiences directly into the presence of God. Her songs are birthed through prayer and are expressions of her personal testimony of God’s power and giving him the glory is exactly what she aims to do.

Singer-Songwriter-Artist Denita Gibbs based out of Birmingham, AL, now residing in Nashville, TN earned national recognition as a finalist in the Vickie Winans Rising Star Talent Search, sponsored by Chrysler. In 2004, she released her first album, entitled “Worthy”. In 2011, she formally signed with Audiostate 55 Entertainment Company for the release of her second album, but she is now an independent artist. Her voice has led her to various arenas of ministry and opening performances for many Gospel artists. In 2014, she was No. 14 on the Billboard gospel album chart with her August release entitled "Without You." This was a contemporary urban inspirational album. Denita has received the following awards: 2014 Alabama People’s Choice Music Award “Female Vocalist of the Year” and the 2014 Alabama People’s Choice Music Award “Song of the Year.”

 In June 2018, Denita was one of the Top 3 Songwriter’s finalists at the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Immerse Conference in Nashville, TN. Following the year of 2018, Denita signed with MNRK Nashville/IndieBlu (formerly EOneGospelNashville) and released her single, “Keep Holding On.” The acoustic bouncy mid-tempo track is good evidence of Denita’s ability to produce music that stays on the cutting edge of contemporary gospel music. In 2019, Denita Gibbs was nominated “New Artist of the Year at the Steeple Awards in Atlanta, GA.  Followed by a Grammy Consideration for Best Gospel Song/Performance for her latest single, “Keep Holding On.”

In August 2020, Gibbs released a Christian rock single entitled, “Better Believe It.” Following the year of 2020, Denita was nominated for Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Female Artist of the Year by the KIA 2020 Awards. In March 2021, Denita released a single “He’s Way Ahead of You” featuring People & Songs.   Following the year of 2021, Denita released her newest single entitled, “Redeemed” under MNRK Nashville/IndieBlu which was written and produced by Gospel Recording Artist/Songwriter Sean Scales from Charlotte, NC. The bouncy beat and relatable lyrics remind us of the importance of knowing we have been redeemed and if we fully understand what Calvary means in the life of a Believer, then we are proud to say, “I am Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb!” Psalm 107:2, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.” In July 2023, Denita received the award of “Bama Female Gospel Artist Of The Year” at the 2023 9th Annual Alabama Music Awards.

Denita knows the importance of not only ministering on the road, but also serving faithfully in the local church. Denita was a faithful member and formally served as a Praise and Worship leader appointed by the pastorate of the late Bishop Heron Johnson at her home church “Faith Apostolic Church (PAW, Inc.)” in Birmingham, AL. With six siblings, she knows and embraces the importance of family and effective mentorship. When Denita is not on the road, she enjoys attending church, and spending time with her Family and Friends.
